#1 Discuss your perception of the NP role. 

My perception of the NP role is that they are trained to assess, diagnose, prescribe and interpret medical test. The way I perceive this role is that NPs are reliable, helpful, and empathic. I've always respected and have been very proud to be a nurse, but specifically when COVID-19 came about, this is when I specifically felt even more empowered about this role. 

#2. What do you know about the NP profession? 

NPs provide health care services which includes diagnosis and management of acute and chronic medical conditions. NPs also work in health promotion, disease prevention, health education, and counseling for families, groups and communities. 

#3. What are your encounters with a nurse practitioner(s)?

I haver worked in the hospital setting before where I encountered nurse practitioners in my unit. The nurse practitioner made rounds on patients and admitted patients from the emergency department to the hospital. Nurse practitioners treated patients while collaborating with the team and referred patients to specialists as well.
