1. Abbott Northwestern Hospital

Abbot Northwestern is part of Allina Health (Minneapolis). It is one of the most seasoned hospitals dating back to 1882 when it opened doors to patients in a rental house. During the initial years, Dr. Amos Abbot was the consulting Physician to the pioneer staff. He held the position for 20 years before leaving to start a community healthcare institution under his name, Abbott Hospital for Women. It is especially famous for a cardiovascular program. During the earlier times, it was called a "ticket hospital" as people could buy a $10 ticket and receive care for a year. Pitkin County Citizen’s Hospital Committee began the hospital in 1889 to provide health care to single working men working in dangerous occupations. 5. Aurora St. Luke Medical Center –Milwaukee
