In the United States, nurses get a license to practice by working through different educational paths. Many entry level nurses obtain their license to work after successful completion of a two-year associate degree, or another recognized technical program. The entry level nursing job involves working closely with the patients when you start out. Your first workstation can be a hospital, physician's office or a long-term care facility soon after obtaining an associate degree while you continue with your training for bachelor’s or a master's degree to enable you to move up the career ladder.
